The Path Ahead of Murli Vijay is Not an Easy One - The CBTF

The Indian team was pretty happy and relaxed after their win in the third test match. But the mood was not as smooth for the opener Murli Vijay and Kuldeep Yadav. Both Murli Vijay and Kuldeep Yadav have been removed from the squad, as they were supposed to play an important role in the Tests but were not as exceptional as they were supposed to be. Prithvi Shaw and Hanuma Bihari are their replacement in the squad.



Kuldeep, however is not in such a pickle as Vijay. He will play in the four-day match against Australia which will be played in Vizagand will be part of the India ‘A’ squad.Kuldeep’s non-bowling arm is his main disadvantage as it gives up on him in delivery stride. As said by former left-arm spinner Dilip Joshi “He should be able to overcome this flaw with a little guidance”.

For Murli Vijay, things don’t seem so good. His test career is compromised and may even end. He was supposed to be India’s no 1 opener when the series started. The fact that he was able to perform so well during the last tour of India it was expected of him that he will perform well this time as well. But he was not able to show the form he showed during the last tour.

He was working so hard to regain his form in the nets but nothing worked for him. After his bad performance in the match, the team management decided to revert to Dhawan and Rahul in the next test. The important question now is that if Murli Vijay will get another chance to make a comeback in the Indian test team.
