Mahendra Singh Dhoni Retirement and Plans for IPL
Mahendra Singh Dhoni aka Mahi has finally announced retirement on the 15th of August on the 74th independence day of India. He has been an awesome player during his career and a role model for almost all of his fans. Rising from Rachi city of Jharkhand to becoming captain of the Indian cricket team.
On 74th independence day, he announced his retirement through an Instagram post which had 4 minute and seven seconds video showing his journey of a sixteen-year international career. Mihir Diwakar, MS Dhoni’s manager said that the discussions for his retirement have been going on for some time now but the date was not decided. He stated that Mahi is a patriot through and through so what would be a better day than independence day to say goodbye to his international carrier.
Dhoni had not played for India after terms exit in 2019 world cups against New Zealand.
MS Dhoni’s exit from Tests in 2014 was also low key and this time around as well he announced his retirement with a single Instagram post sending the fans and country into a standstill. No press conference no hypes at all.
Diwakar stated that 15th August i.e. Independence Day is a big day for India and that might be why he decided on this date for his retirement. With the reaction over the news of the retirement he also mentioned that his complete focus is now on IPL 2020 which is going to be held in UAE from the 19th of September.
